Getting started

What is Airrand Bots?

Airrand Bots is an AI chatbot for your website. You describe your business, add what the bot should know, pick a color and paste one line of code into your site. Visitors ask questions in a chat window, and the bot answers from the content you gave it.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Everything is set up in your browser. The install is one line that you paste into your site's HTML or your site builder's custom code setting, and that is the only code involved.

How long does setup take?

Most bots are ready in a few minutes: describe your business, add a few sources for it to learn from, choose how it looks and paste the line into your site. You can chat with it in the app before it goes live, and those test chats use credit like any other.

Pricing and billing

How much does Airrand Bots cost?

Standard is $20 a month or $200 a year. Pro is $59 a month or $590 a year. Paying yearly gets you twelve months for the price of ten. On both plans, AI usage is paid separately from prepaid credit. The pricing page compares the two.

What is the difference between Standard and Pro?

Pro allows up to 10 bots instead of 3, 10,000 visitor messages per bot per day instead of 2,000, and up to 1,000 knowledge sources per bot instead of 100. It keeps transcripts for 365 days instead of 90, charges a lower rate for AI usage, and lets you remove the "Powered by Airrand" badge. Both plans build the same bot.

What counts as AI usage?

Every reply your bot writes is produced by an AI model, and running the model has a cost. That cost is AI usage. It is paid from your prepaid credit, separately from the subscription, on both plans. A typical short conversation on the default model costs a few cents, and the price depends on the model you choose. Reading the documents and pages you add uses a small amount of credit too.

Is there a free tier or a trial period?

No. Plans start at $20 a month, and your first payment includes a welcome credit, $10 on Standard and $15 on Pro, so your bot can start answering right away.

What is the welcome credit?

A one-time credit added to your balance when your first subscription payment goes through: $10 on Standard or $15 on Pro. It is your bot's starting balance for AI usage. Each account gets it once, so it does not come again on renewal or if you subscribe again later.

How do I add credit?

Top up in the app whenever you like, from $5 and up to $500 in any 24 hours. You can also turn on auto top-up, which buys credit with your saved card when your balance falls to a level you choose. It is off until you turn it on.

What happens if my credit runs out?

Your bot shows an offline message until you top up, and we email you when it happens. Nothing is deleted because of it: your bots and what they know stay exactly as they are. Auto top-up is there if you would rather it never happened.

Can I limit what a bot spends?

Yes. Each bot has a daily spending cap, $3 unless you change it and up to $500, and a daily cap on the messages it answers, 500 unless you change it and up to your plan's limit. When a bot reaches either one, it gives visitors your fallback line until the next day.

Can I remove the "Powered by Airrand" badge?

Yes, on Pro. Standard bots show a small "Powered by Airrand" badge in the chat window. On Pro you can remove it.

Can I change plans, or switch between monthly and yearly billing?

Yes, from the billing page in the app, at any time and in either direction: Standard to Pro or back, monthly to yearly or back. The change takes effect straight away and is prorated: unused time on your old plan is credited against your plan invoices, and anything the new plan costs beyond that is charged the same day. Moving from yearly to monthly turns what is left of your year into credit that pays your monthly fee until it runs out; it is not refunded to your card. Moving from Pro to Standard pauses your newest bots beyond Standard's limit of 3.

What happens if I cancel?

Your bots keep working until the end of the period you paid for, then they pause. Your bots, their knowledge and your settings are kept, so subscribing again switches them back on.

Do you offer refunds?

Except where the law requires it, subscriptions and credit are non-refundable, and cancelling does not refund the period you have already paid for. Credit left on your account stays there, ready for when you subscribe again. The Terms have the detail.

How do I pay?

By card, through Stripe. Prices are in US dollars. Your subscription invoices are on the billing page in the app, and every charge to your credit balance is listed in its history there.

Setup and install

How do I add it to my website?

Paste one line of code into your site, just before the closing body tag, or into your site builder's custom code or footer scripts setting. The app gives you the line with your bot's key already in it. The home page shows what it looks like.

Which sites can I install it on?

Any site that accepts a script tag: you paste one line into your site's HTML or your site builder's custom code setting. You list the sites each bot may run on, and it only loads on those. You need the right to install it on every site you list.

Does it work with WordPress, Shopify, Wix or Squarespace?

It works on any site where you can add a script tag, and most site builders allow that through a custom code, header and footer, or code injection setting. Some builders only offer that setting on their paid plans, so check yours before you start.

How many sites can one bot run on?

Up to 20. Each one is an exact address and has to use https, so www.example.com and example.com are listed separately. A bot with no sites listed does not load anywhere, and changes to the list take effect straight away.

Will it slow down my site or clash with its design?

No. The script loads in the background, so your page does not wait for it, and the chat window runs in its own frame, so your site's styles cannot change it and it cannot change your site. On a phone, the open chat fills the screen.

My site has a Content Security Policy. What do I need to add?

Allow https://bots.airrand.app in your script-src and frame-src directives. The bot's Install tab in the app shows the exact lines.

Can I customize how it looks?

Yes: its color, the name and title in its header, an avatar, a greeting, the text on the launcher button, which side of the page it sits on, and up to three suggested questions that visitors can tap. Text on your color is set to black or white automatically so it stays readable, and the window follows each visitor's light or dark mode.

Can I open the chat from my own button?

Yes. The script adds AirrandBot.open(), AirrandBot.close() and AirrandBot.toggle() to the page, so any button or link on your site can open the chat.

What it knows and how it answers

What can it learn from?

Text you paste in, files you upload (PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, plain text, Markdown, HTML and JSON), and single web pages you add by URL. Crawling a whole site in one go is not available yet.

How much can each bot know?

Up to 100 knowledge sources per bot on Standard and 1,000 on Pro. Each source is one pasted text, one file or one web page. Your account has 50 GB of storage for them.

Does it keep up when my website changes?

Pages you added by URL are read again every night while your plan is active, and a page that has changed is updated in your bot's knowledge. Reading a page that has not changed costs nothing. Text and files are read once, when you add them, so replace a file when it changes. You can also re-read any source by hand.

Can it read pages behind a login, or pages built with JavaScript?

It reads public pages only, as your server sends them. A page behind a login, or one whose text only appears after JavaScript runs in the browser, comes through empty or incomplete. Paste that content in or upload it as a file instead. A scanned PDF needs selectable text for the same reason.

What happens when it does not know the answer?

It says the fallback line you choose, word for word, instead of guessing. Most owners use it to tell visitors how to reach the team. Questions that have nothing to do with your business get a polite reply that it can only help with your business.

Can it get things wrong?

It can. It is told to answer only from your content and to give your fallback line otherwise, which keeps it close to what you wrote, but an AI model can still misread a question or a source. Read through your bot's conversations now and then, and keep details such as prices and policies in your knowledge where it can find them. It is not for emergency, medical, legal or financial advice.

Which languages does it speak?

Whichever language the visitor writes in, using the same content you added once. If you would rather it always replied in one language, you can set that instead.

Which AI models can I choose from?

Fast models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and xAI, with Claude Haiku 4.5 as the default. Every one of them answers straight away rather than stopping to think first, so visitors are not left waiting. The price of a conversation depends on the model you pick.

Can it book appointments, take payments or hand a chat to a person?

No. It answers questions from your content. It does not take actions, browse the web or collect visitors' contact details. To pass visitors to your team, put your email address or phone number in its knowledge or its fallback line, and it will share them.

Can I read my bot's conversations?

Yes. Each bot has an inbox of its conversations, showing the page each one started on, what it cost and how the visitor rated the replies. A usage view covers the last 7, 30 or 90 days: messages answered, conversations and AI cost.

Privacy and data

Does it set cookies on my visitors?

No. The widget sets no cookies, and stores nothing in a visitor's browser until they open or use the chat. Then it keeps a few values in the browser's storage for your site, so their conversation carries on from page to page, and lets them lapse after 25 hours or 30 days without a message. Cookie rules can cover browser storage as well, so the Install tab gives you wording for your privacy policy that lists each value and how long it stays.

Will my visitors know they are talking to an AI?

Yes. The chat window's options menu tells visitors they are chatting with an AI assistant and that what they write is saved by your site and by Airrand, with a link to your privacy policy. The bot is also told never to claim to be a person, and to say it is an AI whenever someone asks. Neither can be switched off.

Who is responsible for my visitors' conversations?

You are the controller of your visitors' conversations, and Airrand is the processor, acting on your behalf. The Privacy Policy sets out what is collected, and the Terms set out what each side is responsible for.

What is stored about a conversation?

The messages, the address of the page it started on, the visitor's browser type, and a hashed form of their IP address. The chat window does not ask visitors for their name or contact details.

Who processes the conversations?

Replies are written by the provider of the model your bot uses: Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or xAI. The content you add is indexed for searching with OpenAI. Payments go through Stripe.

How long are conversations kept?

90 days on Standard and 365 days on Pro, counted from the last message. After that they are deleted automatically.

Can a visitor's conversation be deleted?

Yes. A visitor can delete their own conversation from the chat window, and you can delete any conversation, or every conversation from one visitor, from your bot's inbox when they ask you to.

Your account

Can I run bots for several websites or clients?

Yes, within your plan: up to 3 bots on Standard or 10 on Pro, each with its own knowledge, look and list of sites. An account belongs to one person, so there are no team members or separate client logins.

How do I delete my account?

Email [email protected] from the address on the account. We delete it within 30 days, and deleting a bot from the app removes its conversations and knowledge straight away.

How do I get help?

Email [email protected] about your account, billing, credit, or a bot that is not answering the way it should. The contact page lists the other ways to reach us, including how to report a security issue.
